If your one of my beloved readers than you might well have guessed by the title of this post that the first thing on my list of greener items to wrap with would be….
Yes, there is a child under all that silk busy dancing!
Play silks are fantastic for wrapping gifts, specially for children, they are played with in my home so so often by all the children, even the oldest! Of course silk scarfs are wonderful for your female friends. They can wear them or use them to wrap things next year. Just tie the silk around the object and tuck a card in with it. Or use real ribbon to tie the gift up with! The real ribbon can be reused as well.
2. Children’s Art Work
This makes wonderful wrapping paper and if you collect a great deal of it over the year you know it all adds up and you can’t really keep it all, so using in this way will give it another life before being recycled! You can also make bows with art work, will share this in a blog soon!
Do you have old T-Shirts you could cut and hem around so you can make it neat and wonderful? How about some spare fabric you meant to do something with but never got to it. Use it for wrap with string or sew up some simple gift bags with it and attach a note reminding the gifted person that they can save the bag and use it over and over!
There are so many ideas, do you have any that are eco-friendly that I should try this year?
