How to Cancel Sears ShipVantage or Shop Your Way Max

UPDATE Nov 2012 – They changed ship vantage to Shop Your Way Max. This walk through should still help you navigate canceling this service! If you have a hard time please let me know.
I spent near an hour trying to figure out how to cancel the free 30 day trial on Sears ShipVantage. Calling the number found in the confirmation that said to call to cancel was useless and a waste of time. They try and walk you through options that are not on the website. I finally figured it out on my own after reading many many customers saying they couldn’t cancel, or they tried to cancel with live chat that it was reported a week later as an Error and they are charged the $80 and that they could not get that money refunded.

So having figured it out I thought I would post photos as to how I did it, a little walk through on canceling the mistake called Sears ShipVantage.

Update: You can not cancel from kmart.com even if you purchased the free trial there, you need to go to sears.com!

1. Go to sears.com and then log into your account and then click on the upper right tab My Profile.

2. Click on the “About Me” near the middle of the page and then on the “Clubs” link.

3. On the bottom right of the screen is ShipVantage and under that is the option to cancel.

4. This is what it will say:

5. And hopefully then it will say it was canceled and hopefully you will get the confirmation e-mail.

Because so many people have said this service is set up in a way to scam people and many people report being charged after canceling I would suggest getting screen shots of confirmation and saving the e-mail incase you have to battle this.

I wish I didn’t have to post something like this but I just spent too long figuring it out that I wanted to do something to maybe save others some time. Sadly I am betting if they took the time to google this issue, that they will have already spent a lot of time getting the run around from sears.com and the live help.

I am wishing you all happy holidays with as few consumerist issues as possible.

  3. Thanks a lot! A heads up for people who are trying to cancel a Shipvantage trial they obtained from Kmart: You can’t cancel it from their website (for whatever reason). You have to go to sears.com to cancel, no matter where you got the trial from

  4. Thank you so much for the tips! I felt so stupid clicking around in Kmart.com trying to figure out how to cancel. THANKS AGAIN!!!

I thnk I love you, thanks for the step by step. I’m tired of sneaky shit like this, I never even signed up to begin with, haven’t been on the Sears website in nearly a year but I am suddenly signed up for some free trial and it’s about to renew. Guess who just lost a loyal (in store) customer?

Thank you. I was warned and i still enrolled. Absolutely terrible i cant believe sears would be affiliated with such a deceitful program. It is impossible to cancel without researching it all over the web! all the tabs are “hidden”.

  12. Thank you thank you thank you!!! This was immensely helpful as I was starting to worry I would never figure it out! I would like to point out, however, it no longer says shipvantage, it now says shop your way max. Just one more way for them to confuse you into thinking that’s not the right thing! Bastards!!
