One of the things I teach my children as a mother is how to throw an event. I often try to leave a lot of the planning of sleepovers to my children reminding them of the steps. I think that party planning is moving into the professional world and many people are losing the personal knowledge of how to throw a party. Not every birthday party needs a personal planner! Not every baby shower or wedding shower needs one either. No matter who is throwing the party though an invitation to me is a must, even if the plans are chaotically last minute I think it is important for the other parents to know what is going on and what to expect, not to mention contact information! Invitations are fun and the ones from this site I found are adorable. Who wouldn’t want to send something so lovely?
For birthdays this is all the more important. I don’t always have time though to make my own and so when I find invitations like the giraffe one above I near jump up and down like a gleeful child. For me, this one is perfect! I love giraffes and have daughters. It would save me so much time. Did you know that giraffes have the largest hearts of any land animal? Show your heart and send an invite that will make someone smile!
Are kids birthday invitations really that important? Don’t e-mail ones count? I think a save the date evite is nice but I think invitations should be given in person or by snail mail. When we can touch something we tend to remember them better than when we just see them. Plus, I like to add a scent of some kind to invitations to add another sense and help with memory further and entice party guests to really get back to me about coming.
Most people know that baby shower invitations are a must still and that online ones don’t cut it. Specially if your inviting professionals and co-workers. An invitation is your first foot forward to an event and if you want to make sure people remember it and want to come be sure to send your invitations by mail and make sure they are memorable!
The prices on these are really reasonable for both personal invites and hand written ones. I like to have a couple hand written ones for late invites my children might forget too. Again, even if plans are made last minute I like to give invitations to be polite and show manners and be considerate of needs.

Have wonderful parties and remember they start with the invitations!

That’s nice to hear that you involve your kids in your party planning efforts!
My personal pet peeve is when people throw parties at 2 o’clock. TODDLERS NAP AT 2 O’CLOCK! Just don’t invite me if you don’t want me to attend.
Not every toddler naps at 2pm. In fact mine do not nap at all and when they did they napped at 11am. It can really depend on the child and family. We let our children pick when they needed to sleep naturally and did not try to regulate them to an artificial notion of what they needed and when.
