I received computer help today to get this old dinosaur of a computer to move along a bit faster. Ok so my laptop is only about 2.5 years old but in computer years that is OLD if you ask this Geek Mommy Goddess! Yes, we have older computers in the house, but the very young children use them as if they break them, no tears will be shed by any adult in the house. The children love them though so it would mean having to replace them some how. So maybe this old thing will be a back up soon for them too! Yes, that is a threat dear computer, work fast or end up a toddler toy!

Though personally I think it is a blessing to not have to deal with waiting around for someone to come over and then having to deal with a stranger in the house for who knows how long. Meet Lilikin

I am very happy to tell you about Lilikin!
He is a special grey melancholic kitty.
Who would want a melancholic stuffed animal?
Anyone!
I think we all have out moments right?
Maybe your like me and know a child that is a bit different? Maybe very serious or critical or quiet? My little Storm baby is almost 5 years old now. She is reserved in a shadowed way most do not understand. I admit I do not even understand all the time. She is in her own world and often does not let others in. She will suck her fingers and curl up and not look at anyone. She has times where she is like every other child but more often she is different in her special way. It can be hard to be her and honestly a bit hard to be her Mommy who just wants to see her smile and make her happy.
Sometimes though for some people “happy” is found in melancholy. It if sound in simply being able to have time and space to be comfortable. Sucking her fingers and staring into the ever after is how my little girl finds comfort.
Finding a toy that is a bit like her was rather a shock actually though. Such a surprise I did not know she needed. He came quickly in the mail and the wonderful person who sent them also sent a little note for our quiet little girl from lilikins explaining that he too likes to just be quiet and not talk sometimes. Hearing the letter her big eyes lit up and she snatch him away to hug and cuddle in a way that melted my heart. She needed someone to get it. I had no idea she needed that.
For my little girl she says Lilikins is a Girl Kitty. She likes to read, make art, watch people, and sleep! She also seems to like to ask people to “go away for while please” as she needs space.
Perfect Gift for 5 year old!
And other ages of course!
I can’t gush enough about this Kitty. I wish I had known about them a long time ago. So far Lilikins has traveled the country with us and our little girl. Gone to the beach, a wedding. and so much more. I am so thankful to this little stuffed animal and those who make him!
Lilikins is not alone though!
