R&R
Playing board games, party games and card games is a fun way to teach. Besides things like critical and imaginative thinking, logic, statistics and probability, math and vocabulary, games also teach important life skills like empathy, self-control, social interaction and mental toughness.
R&R Games has earned a reputation for delivering super fun, high-quality award winning games for kids of all ages. Most games have been listed in Games Magazine’s “Top 100”, and their popular Time’s Up!® party game has earned the MENSA Select Honor Award. Other notable award winners are Pluckin’ Pairs®, Pass-Ackwords® and Double Take® — all named Best Game of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle. Check out all their games at www.rnrgames.com and connect with them on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.
As a homeschooling mother I have to say that play is a huge part of learning, and not just the early years. Educational games are like treasure here, specially games that span different age groups and skill levels. We can never seem to get enough games and we love trying out new ones. There are days when life is hitting us hard and so homeschooling ends up being a whole day of games and I am always so thrilled to see the learning that happens and how much more my children know than what I have personally taught them. As important reading is for parents to do with children I think it is equally important for parents to play with their kids. The smiles, the laughing, the challenge is all therapeutic and creates bonds and memories to last a lifetime. Play with your kids, they are worth it!
