I remember time and again looking at my tiny newborn babies and wondering just my body could so perfectly make them inside but why it was so hard to sustain them with that same body once they were born. The fact is, breastfeeding can be incredibly hard for some, and I am one of them. I did everything I could, each and every baby, though what I “could” do grew more and more as I learned more. Turns out what so many doctors and even a midwife and a few lactation consultants missed was a medical reason for my not having a full milk supply. It would have helped to have known about it years before but alas, the fact is, I did the best I could. My babies have been breast/bottle fed and I did fight to give them as much breastmilk as I could and I am thankful for all the help to it.
Janice Fuentes thank you for nursing Mr. Handsome when I struggled. Thank you for all the zoo meet ups to nurse babies and let kids play and remind me to relax! Thank you for your kindness and care and knowing so much about Breastfeeding! Thank you eternally to Laura Bailey Peetros for shipping breastmilk to my Storm Baby when my supply just couldn’t keep up, and for the dear friendship and wisdom I miss so dearly, you are never forgotten! Thank you to Carrie Vine, Lori Harris, Cindy Calvano, Laura Dover, Crystal Gorka, Annie, Anna, Serina, Alisha, Theresa, Jennifer Phillips and so many others. You have been a blessing, so much more than you could ever know!
